SHINGLE ROOFING
SHINGLE ROOF REPLACEMENT
Replacing your shingles starts with stripping the existing roof down to the decking (typically made of OSB or plywood). During this messy phase, Comanche Roofing will protect plants, windows, and other vulnerable elements with tarps or plywood barriers to prevent damage from falling debris.
Necessary repairs or replacements of the decking are carried out to ensure a solid foundation for the new roof. Next, a new layer of synthetic underlayment is laid down to provide an additional layer of protection against water infiltration and to “Dry-In” the roof.
Finally, the new shingles are laid starting from the bottom edge of the roof and working upwards in overlapping rows. All pipes, vents, and penetration flashings are replaced and painted to match.
At Comanche Roofing, we take the clean-up seriously. The job concludes with a thorough cleanup, including the use of a magnetic roller to remove nails and metal debris from the grass.
SHINGLE ROOF REPAIR
Repairing a leaking shingle roof involves several key steps to ensure a thorough fix. First, the source of the leak must be accurately identified, often requiring an inspection during or shortly after rain to see where water is penetrating.
Once the problematic area is pinpointed, surrounding shingles are carefully removed to reveal the underlying structure and check for any water damage or deterioration in the decking or underlayment. Damaged materials are replaced or repaired to restore structural integrity.
Next, new underlayment may be laid down as a moisture barrier before installing new shingles that match the existing roof's color and style as closely as possible. These shingles are securely nailed in place and sealed to prevent future leaks.
The repair is completed with a careful cleanup of any debris, ensuring the roof is restored to a functional state with an appearance that blends seamlessly with the original structure.
